In the script, Mr. Shotz went to Sleazy's Family Motor Lodge, which became the Dewdrop Motel for filming. Also, onscreen Squiggy makes an announcement about the auditions and then the scene ends with him and Lenny leaving to look for the stage. Here's the very end of the scene, and act, in the script:
THE BOYS EXIT. THE GIRLS READ THE SLIPS OF PAPER.

I got 253.
LAVERNE
I got number one. I'm supposed to audition at nine o'clock at Sleazy's Family Motor Lodge.
Thoughts:
- The dropped bit about the girls' lunches isn't strictly necessary, except as character contrast.
- At the time of this script, they'd cast the Fish Lady but somehow not Mr. Shotz. Luckily, it was Harry Shearer again by filming.
- We have a Hello Cue that ceased to be one. I've noticed that sometimes the boys will get more than one in a script, but usually only one per episode makes it to air.
- Was the original name of the motel too, well, sleazy?
- Did both boys invite Laverne to the motor lodge or just Lenny? How am I supposed to feel about this? How does she feel about this?
