"Honeymoon Hotel," Scene H

There's "EXT. SHOT HOTEL PFISTER - NIGHT" and then "INT. HONEYMOON SUITE - SEVERAL HOURS LATER":

THE ROOM IS FILLING WITH SMOKE AS EVERYONE SITS AROUND PLAYING CARDS.  LAVERNE IS WINNING.

LAVERNE

I'll call your two oranges and raise you a dried fig.  See, it's getting fun.

SHIRLEY
Yeah.  Kind of like Las Vegas --

LAVERNE

I'm on a hot streak -- better order more fruit.

LENNY AND SQUIGGY ENTER.

LENNY AND SQUIGGY

Hello.

THEY ARE WEARING JACKETS AND TIES.  EACH HAS A SMALL RUBBER-GLOVE-NAME TAG PINNED TO HIS JACKET.

SQUIGGY

Well, well, well -- who's your friend?

LENNY

Boy.  Girls are pushovers for a guy in uniform.

SQUIGGY

(LOOKING AROUND) Boy, how'd you like to have a layout like this in the back of the truck.

LAVERNE

What are you doin' here?

SQUIGGY

We helped you win that contest, so we figured we had some of this honeymoon coming, too.

LENNY

Yeah, we been having a great time... we crashed that proctologists' convention they're having downstairs...  Right, Dr. Squigman?

SQUIGGY

Yeah, those proctologists are a very classy bunch... look what they gave everybody -- Rubber glove name tags!

LENNY

Yeah, and we brought you a couple of pamphlets.

LAVERNE

(LOOKING AT THEM, READING) "The Dangers Of Tight Pants".  "Improving Your Backside Manner".  "You And Your Flashlike".  Nice, guys.

SHIRLEY

Out!

LAVERNE

Wait a second, Shirl--

SHE CROSSES SHIRLEY OVER TO THE BED AREA AS LENNY AND SQUIGGY SIT IN TO PLAY CARDS.

ANGLE ON LAVERNE AND SHIRLEY.

LAVERNE

Listen, aren't you kinda lonely here?

SHIRLEY

Yeah--

LAVERNE

Well, look -- we got the makings of a party here.

SHIRLEY

Laverne, bite your tongue.

LAVERNE

I'm not kidding.  This is our last night here.  I say let's have a party -- we call Carmine -- a few friends.  Order room service -- (PRESSING ON BED) We got music.

SHIRLEY

Well -- and Big Rosie's down there.

LAVERNE

Rosie -- uh uh -- no way.

SHIRLEY

Look, we're givin' a party -- no one said a good party!

LAVERNE

Well --

SHIRLEY

Come on, Vernie, we'll make her bring something --

LAVERNE

What?

SHIRLEY

Doctors.

Thoughts:

• The only things that made it in are the boys crashing the proctologists' convention in suits (although not rubber-glove name-tags), and a modified version of Laverne's line about the makings of a party.
• Of course Laverne is winning at cards.  Then again, it's not clear how she explained the rules of the game to her non-English-speaking opponents.  Maybe they hold up the fruit they bid.
• So Lenny and Squiggy are fruit, as in the homophobic slur?  (Onscreen, they don't even get a Hello Cue.  They just come in and Squiggy says hello, unless something was cut after filming.)
• I am amused that Squiggy would like to decorate their truck, rather than their apartment, like this suite.
• I guess the boys helped Laverne win the contest in the sense that they cheered her on and covered the television.
• Those pamphlet titles!  I have no idea what a "flashlike" is and Googling didn't help.
• Why would Shirley be lonely?  She's got Laverne and the waiters and the boys.  And it's not like she's been stuck in the hotel for a week or something.
• Carmine does not come back to the hotel in the filmed version, although it's unclear why.  Couldn't he have returned after work, done some photo ops and then snuck out again later?
• I'm unclear how Shirley knows that Rosie is in the hotel.  It makes more sense in the filmed version that Laverne knows, since she's been roaming around the hotel, while Shirley is trapped in the suite.  Here, it's understandable that Laverne doesn't want Rosie at the party, although Shirley is surprisingly cruel with her "no one said a good party."
• And of course Shirley wants Rosie to bring doctors.
