This was dropped:
LAVERNE
See, the birthmark didn't mean diddly.
SQUIGGY
Wasn't even a birthmark. I accidently [sic] got some soap on my arm, and my roots went right down the drain.
Instead, Laverne says he'll have fun looking for the birthmark on other girls, which is actually more questionable. And after Laverne says she'd still worry that Squiggy and Shirley's children would be "morons," the filmed scene ends but here's the last bit from the script:
SHIRLEY
Get out, out, out.
SQUIGGY
We could adopt.
And the girls "push the boys out."
The weaknesses and strengths of this episode seem to be present even in this draft, although the emphasis falls differently in some places. Again, I wish the episode had either been more about Bobby's visit and/or a less slapsticky look at adoption.
