B-

Michael Weinberger and Yvette Weinberger (presumably spouses) didn't write any other L & S episodes, but their sole contribution is pretty good, slow to get going but edging towards a B by the end.  Shirley falls quickly for a smooth-talking, well-dressed man, Bart Andrews (Dale Robinette, who is also in the season finale, in an uncredited role, so I wonder if it'll be another clip show).  He hits on Laverne with the same approach, after he's already had a very-late-night date with Shirley.  Laverne wonders if she should tell Shirley and seeks advice from Mrs. Babish, saying that they've never had a serious talk, which as far as the audience has seen is true.  It's a nice bonding scene, and Laverne thinks "Edna" is a good pick by her father.

The episode is of course more about L & S's friendship, and they have one of those obligatory ABC-sitcom scenes where they mock and imitate each other.  (Three's Company did this at least twice, Bosom Buddies countless times, and I'm willing to bet that Happy Days did it at least once.)  But they also, yes, make a pact at the very end of the episode, swearing that they will never let a man come between them again.  It's a safe bet that that pact will be broken.

No real shipping notes, other than Fredna is still going, since Lenny and Squiggy ogle a blonde (Bart's date) and ignore Laverne & Shirley, but Laverne does mention that Carmine used to go out with Shirley.
